When searching for a preschool for my daughter more than 23 years ago, I was met with uninspired attitudes towards early years education that were at odds with my understanding that young children’s imagination and sense of wonder must be protected. So I started Wildflowers Kindergarten to create a space for young children to play freely in nature, because they - like all of us - need space and beauty.
Wildflowers’ ethos is rooted in my interest in educational philosophy, experience with working in a Steiner Waldorf kindergarten, and academic background in social anthropology, as well as my own childhood in Sweden primarily spent playing outdoors. I continue to work with the children every day and remain dedicated to enriching their experiences at Wildflowers.
